My son Joseph loves Karate with Shihan! We tried another karate schools that was closer in location, but he kept asking for Shihan. In comparison, I was most impressed with the curriculum and organization at Denny Strecker's Karate, and I'm so glad we made the decision to return. The kids are all known by name and addressed individually throughout each class. Joseph loves it, and I have seen growth in him both as a karate student and as a young boy who displays confidence and shows courtesy and respect!

One of the most rewarding decisions we've made in our daughter's development has been her enrollment at Denny Strecker's Karate. She has developed so many skills in just one year. The instructors are wonderful and the skills they teach reach well beyond martial arts, including reinforcing skills to be a good student, good friend, and good person.

Nearly five years at the dojo now. My son, 12 year old who is autistic has really progressed under Shihan Strecker. He is doing things I would not have thought he could do. He's still very shy but his confidence has grown so much. I highly recommend this kid friendly, family oriented dojo.

3 Magic Words

I’m here today to share with you three magic words, yes I can.

These three words can help a child (or an adult) be successful through anything they face as a challenge in their life.

A “yes I can” attitude is deeply embedded into everything that we do here at Denny Streckers Karate.

To know whether your child is practicing the “yes I can” attitude, there are four key areas.

Number one is eye contact, they are able to look people directly in the eyes when speaking to them.

Number two is standing tall. They always have great posture.

Number three, they speak with a clear, confident voice.

And four, having a big smile on your face.

Now, when life is going great, having the “yes I can” attitude is very easy.

But our challenge to you is to keep the “yes I can” attitude when life gets hard.

So, here’s a challenge for you parents. The next time you find yourself in a negative or challenging state, remember that you are your child’s biggest role model, and most influential person in their lives.

And if they see you struggling, it’s really important that you keep that positive attitude.

Take a deep breath in, put that smile on your face, and show your child that you are practicing the “yes I can” attitude, so we can be their leader.
