Love this program! This is NOT your typical karate program, but so much more! The kids learn life skills such as self esteem, respect, and discipline (for example, a challenge this month is for ninjas to make their bed every day). My daughter started this program shortly after turning three years old, and I have seen tremendous increases in her self-confidence, attention span, respect for teachers at school, manners, and overall behavior (in addition to physical development). Not a day goes by that her teachers don’t compliment her on her behavior, and I believe a large part of that is owed to this program. The instructor is incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated to student success. It’s not very often that you get to see someone who has truly found his “calling” in life, but I believe Shihan is one of those people.

Absolutely the best thing we've ever done for our son and for our family. In only a couple months we saw huge positive changes in our son's self-esteem, his confidence, his fitness, and his overall attitude. He’s always excited to come to class, and his growing pride and sense of accomplishment is a joy to see. More than just a karate school, through SDMA our son (and our family) is learning valuable life skills. Thanks Shihan Strecker!

My son Joseph loves Karate with Shihan! We tried another karate schools that was closer in location, but he kept asking for Shihan. In comparison, I was most impressed with the curriculum and organization at Skillz Dynamic Martial Arts, and I'm so glad we made the decision to return. The kids are all known by name and addressed individually throughout each class. Joseph loves it, and I have seen growth in him both as a karate student and as a young boy who displays confidence and shows courtesy and respect!

One of the most rewarding decisions we've made in our daughter's development has been her enrollment at Denny Strecker's Karate. She has developed so many skills in just one year. The instructors are wonderful and the skills they teach reach well beyond martial arts, including reinforcing skills to be a good student, good friend, and good person.

Nearly five years at the dojo now. My son, 12 year old who is autistic has really progressed under Shihan Strecker. He is doing things I would not have thought he could do. He's still very shy but his confidence has grown so much. I highly recommend this kid friendly, family oriented dojo.

Absolutely love what I'm seeing both our daughters achieve in such a short time, and really like how the courses focus on life skills as well as physical skills

We're only 6 weeks in and we could not be happier w/ the progress. Our near 4 year old is not the best listener, but we are already seeing changes. Still a work in progress to be sure, but we're on our way!

Denny Strecker's teaches kids not only karate, but how to become leaders. My son has been going there for over a year and the change in his self confidence and attitude has been life changing!

Caring, detailed, and family oriented are 3 terms that come to mind when thinking about this facility. You definitely don't want to pass up this school if you want to learn self defense, confidence, respect, or just get a great workout.

We signed up my son last year when he was 5 to help him build confidence. Since then his more confident in everything and made improvements in all areas. Now, his twin sister has joined along with him after seeing how fun the class were. I love the fact that the classes focus on life skills but making it a blast for the kids!

Discipline Is An Important Life Skill to Learn Young

Hey parents, Shihan here. We had a great conversation in karate class tonight and I wanted to make sure that I talk about it and make sure that all of the students that weren’t here tonight benefit from the same lesson.

We were doing our fitness test in the extreme skills class, which is our 10 to 14 year olds, and I noticed something and it really clicked in my head, how to be able to apply this to them at a much deeper level. It was regarding our discipline, discipline leading to good habits or bad habits.

What was happening is during round four, which is our combination several of our ninjas, we’re doing punch, punch, hands down, front kick, bring either hands backup, punch, punch, front kick, hands down. Now we started talking about this and it really caught my attention so we stopped the test for a quick second and I ask the kids what was going on that seemed wrong. And I showed him that example. And they didn’t quite get it. Because it was such a bad habits that they see it as the norm. But here’s the key thing that we were talking about. You’re creating a lot of extra work for yourself. If you’re throwing punch, punch, drop, your hands have to bring them back up to punch punch again, you have all this wasted energy and wasted time that got me thinking, what else are you doing in your life, that’s a bad habit that’s wasting energy and wasting time. Because if you’re doing something as simple as dropping your hands and bringing them back up over and over again, and not thinking about it, I guarantee you’ve got some other habits that you’ve developed that are wasting time and wasting your energy. So also with that, when they’re dropping their hands, they’re opening their face. So they’re not an extra bad habit. Because now if they ever have to protect themselves, they’re going to throw a punch and then drop their hands and their wide open. So again, what other bad habits are you creating that? Or do you do that are creating problems that are going to get you punched in the face, because guess what life is going to punch us in the face at some point. And how we respond to that is super important. But if we can prevent it, why not keep our guard up. And that way, we don’t have to get punched in the face as much, right? So this is truly the essence of what I’m focusing on with our niches this year is are the punch punch front kicks a big deal now, right? I don’t care if you have an awesome punch punch. But when we see an opportunity about hey, here’s a bad habit. So what else are you doing that is a bad habit. And let’s fix those things. Now. Just imagine if you were to sit with your name job and do this once a month. And you were able to fix 12 bad habits by the end of this year. How much better stronger, happier and more successful is your ninja going to be in their life.

Just imagine, imagine somebody sitting down with you at your ninjas age and saying, you know what, here’s some good habits. Here’s the things that you need to be doing to enjoy the rest of your life. Earlier we talked about hard choices lead to an easy life. This is where the rubber meets the road. find things that your ninja is doing. That’s creating a bad habit. And make sure you get rid of it. Now by getting rid of it. Now you’re helping your ninja develop a much happier and stronger life. So there you have it. We sat and talked about it with our 10 to 14 year olds. It hit such a chord with me thought it was super important to share with each of you do me a favor if you found this useful, like comment below with what bad habit your ninja has that you’re going to start fixing right away.

I’ll be happy to comment back and help you knock that bad habit out. Have a great day and we’ll see you guys in class.
