Holiday Training Tips
Holidays Are Coming!!
In all seriousness, the holiday season is almost upon us! This means Thanksgiving dinner menus, finding that perfect Christmas tree, holiday travels, priceless family time, and presents (and the hide and seek game that goes along with them).
I am sure that at some point this holiday season your ninja may miss a few classes or go on a super special holiday trip! With all the different things you parents will be juggling this year, I thought it would be appropriate to share with you some neat ideas I’ve received from parents over the years here at Denny Strecker’s Karate that kept other ninjas on track.
Ask your instructor what they will be working on during your absence. We can then provide custom, detailed videos that your ninja can use to practice with! I’m sure Grandma knows your kids take karate, but how cool would it be to show them custom videos that specifically mention your kids! Also, wou
ldn’t it be awesome for them to show off for 10min or so as they practice? Uh..YES!
Another great way to supplement your training will be with private lessons! You can use these in 1 of 2 ways, or both! First, schedule a few before you leave so that you can be “ahead of the game” when you return. Second, you can schedule them once you return so that we can sharpen your skills as you get back into class. For the most impact, do both. This way we can get you all the information you need to be awesome, and when you return we can polish anything you found difficult.
Write it Down
Lucky for you we actually have everything printed! No writing involved. Simply ask your instructor for a copy of your testing chart so that you know what you should be practicing while you’re out and about. We can even give you a few extra pointers or write down any important dates for you as well. When this is done in conjunction with any of these other ideas, you know you are off to a great start!
Post in our Families Page
Our ninjas (and their family) are a huge part of our lives here at Denny Strecker’s Karate! So post videos of your vacations, whether you are up in the snowy mountains or on a sandy beach we really want to know! You can also lead by example by posting training videos on our private families page! This is a great way to connect with our instructors and receive pointers while your away!
Denny Strecker’s Karate wishes everyone a safe and fun holiday season! We also want to do everything we can to help our ninjas stay on track. There are many more ways to do this so if you have one that wasn’t listed feel free to post it on our families page on Facebook.
