Love this program! This is NOT your typical karate program, but so much more! The kids learn life skills such as self esteem, respect, and discipline (for example, a challenge this month is for ninjas to make their bed every day). My daughter started this program shortly after turning three years old, and I have seen tremendous increases in her self-confidence, attention span, respect for teachers at school, manners, and overall behavior (in addition to physical development). Not a day goes by that her teachers don’t compliment her on her behavior, and I believe a large part of that is owed to this program. The instructor is incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated to student success. It’s not very often that you get to see someone who has truly found his “calling” in life, but I believe Shihan is one of those people.

Absolutely the best thing we've ever done for our son and for our family. In only a couple months we saw huge positive changes in our son's self-esteem, his confidence, his fitness, and his overall attitude. He’s always excited to come to class, and his growing pride and sense of accomplishment is a joy to see. More than just a karate school, through SDMA our son (and our family) is learning valuable life skills. Thanks Shihan Strecker!

My son Joseph loves Karate with Shihan! We tried another karate schools that was closer in location, but he kept asking for Shihan. In comparison, I was most impressed with the curriculum and organization at Skillz Dynamic Martial Arts, and I'm so glad we made the decision to return. The kids are all known by name and addressed individually throughout each class. Joseph loves it, and I have seen growth in him both as a karate student and as a young boy who displays confidence and shows courtesy and respect!

One of the most rewarding decisions we've made in our daughter's development has been her enrollment at Denny Strecker's Karate. She has developed so many skills in just one year. The instructors are wonderful and the skills they teach reach well beyond martial arts, including reinforcing skills to be a good student, good friend, and good person.

Nearly five years at the dojo now. My son, 12 year old who is autistic has really progressed under Shihan Strecker. He is doing things I would not have thought he could do. He's still very shy but his confidence has grown so much. I highly recommend this kid friendly, family oriented dojo.

Absolutely love what I'm seeing both our daughters achieve in such a short time, and really like how the courses focus on life skills as well as physical skills

We're only 6 weeks in and we could not be happier w/ the progress. Our near 4 year old is not the best listener, but we are already seeing changes. Still a work in progress to be sure, but we're on our way!

Caring, detailed, and family oriented are 3 terms that come to mind when thinking about this facility. You definitely don't want to pass up this school if you want to learn self defense, confidence, respect, or just get a great workout.

We signed up my son last year when he was 5 to help him build confidence. Since then his more confident in everything and made improvements in all areas. Now, his twin sister has joined along with him after seeing how fun the class were. I love the fact that the classes focus on life skills but making it a blast for the kids!

New Year Goals for Kids Karate Classes

New Years may have passed but it’s not too late for you and your ninja to make or create a commitment to excellence! It is important to teach your child to always be striving to make and reach new goals and the beginning of every year is a great time to reflect and set some new challenges. My kids karate classes are designed to help your child develop these skills.

Here are 10 EASY resolutions you can make for 2018 to get your training off to a kickin’ start!

1) Don’t miss a Monday

Don’t miss a Monday (or your first class of the week)! Set the tone for your week with an energetic and positive attitude. Set yourself up for success at the beginning of your week and you’ll be surprised at how well you will persevere when under pressure!

2) Spend 5 minutes (or more) to practice at home

A little practice each day adds up! Only 5 minutes per day, 7 days per week means over 30minutes of practice time! Imagine if you spend 10 minutes per day, that would be more than an hour. In just a short amount of time each day, you can lay a solid foundation for all of your goals!

3) Eat healthy/reduce junk food

You don’t have to go on a full diet! How about this: Eat Healthy(er)! Start small and introduce a new vegetable to your diet or eliminate something that isn’t so good for you. By starting with small goals you will build momentum for the rest of your year!

4) Ask for feedback every class

After each class, ask your instructor for one thing that you can work on at home to become better. If you want to take this to the next level, keep a journal of all of the feedback you get and have your instructor initial it when you can show them you have improved!

5) Pick a skill to master

Sometimes we have a skill that is super easy, or maybe a skill that is pretty challenging! Either way, find one and decide to MASTER it! Once you are satisfied with your improvement, move on to another skill and MASTER that one!

6) Take pictures in class

This one is mainly for our parents! Take pictures of your ninjas in class. Make it a goal to take one picture per class! This way you will end up with a compilation of memories and achievements that cannot be forgotten! You can even post these on Social Media if you are Facebook or IG savvy! Just don’t forget those hashtags 😉 #DSKTROY #DennyStreckersKarate

7) Be active on our Families Page

Our families page is a place to come and share your achievements and get informed. But beyond that, our Families Page holds a wealth of ways to be involved as well! We are always welcoming new members and posting pics of current students so go leave an encouraging comment or just throw a “like” on it! We also offer a FREE program called Parent SKILLZ which is an in-depth program for parents who want to increase their level of connection and involvement with their kids! Not to mention we also give away some pretty cool prizes!

8) Join a special team

Here at Denny Strecker’s Karate we have a Specialty Team your ninja can be a part of! Our most popular is our S.T.O.R.M. Team (Special Team Of Role Models). Step outside of your comfort zone this year and become a leader in our classes by joining our STORM Team. See Shihan to see if there are any openings or if you have any questions about joining!

9) Learn something new about each instructor

It is always cool to know something that most people don’t know. Your ninja can develop a sense of belonging if you help them learn something new about each instructor. This can be as simple as learning their favorite color, food, vacation spot, or karate move!

10) Make Mom and Dad proud each class

Finally, bring it back to basics! Make it a goal every class to make your parents proud! Try your hardest, be loud and give everything 100%

Our hope here at Denny Strecker’s Karate is that this new year is one of your best ever! We are humbled that you chose us to be a part of your families’ lives and will do everything we can to serve your family.
